TAIF’s approach

TAIF operates in South Africa and recognises that access to records may be governed by the Promotion of Access to Information Act, 2000 (PAIA) and other applicable law.

TAIF Lab is reviewing and documenting its obligations under PAIA. Formal access-to-information details and any applicable PAIA Manual will be published here as required.

This page does not claim that a PAIA Manual has been completed or that a particular request process applies before those details are finalised.

Categories of records TAIF may hold

Depending on the service's use and configuration, TAIF may hold records in the following categories:

  • governance, legal, contractual, service-provider and security documentation;
  • instructor accounts, identity details, invitations and class-access roles;
  • class rosters, encrypted learner-identifier mappings and learner-verification records;
  • assessment content, team membership, attempts, results, exports and audit records; and
  • support requests, technical operations and security-incident records.

Listing a category does not mean that every record exists or is automatically accessible. Any request remains subject to identity verification, applicable law, institutional responsibilities, permitted grounds of refusal and protection of other people's information.

Official resources

You can read the Promotion of Access to Information Act on the South African Government website, find current guidance through the Information Regulator (South Africa), and obtain the Regulator's current PAIA guides, forms and templates.
